How the numbers are made

Each route follows OpenStreetMap roads from the usual start to the summit, with heights from the Copernicus 30 m elevation model, smoothed to remove bridge and tunnel spikes. Length, elevation gain and average grade come from that track; the maximum grade is the steepest 200 m stretch, so a single hairpin does not set it.

Climb times assume steady power, no wind, a road bike position and the same rolling and air resistance as our power to speed calculator.
